L's Outfit: Dress in Layers!

 Hello people!!

 This is the first outfit post for Fashion Gossipology!

 How so? First of all, many of you have complained to me that I haven't made any post about myself and I haven't written so many things in my profile info. Secondly, I got a new pair of Spring pumps and you asked for an outfit post. Lastly, my photographer and friend Foteini Z. thought that I had to make a post like this and I felt that the time was right.

 So, few Sundays ago we decided to do this photo shooting. It was March already, the day came with a bright sun but around noon this beautiful Sunday became cloudy and the wind was messing with my hair. I decided that I had to choose a proper outfit for an early Spring day like this. In Winter/Spring transition days, we don't know how to dress ourselves because of the temperature swings. But I found my answer.

 The answer is: dress in layers. Layers can keep us warm enough and when it gets too hot, we just slip off a layer.

  So, I put on my striped shirt, my knit-loose cardigan, a leather-like jacket (Check out the: Fashion Trend - The Leather Effect), my ripped denim, my new Sante pumps and for more spring colour a necklace.

  Αυτό είναι το πρώτο outfit post  για το Fashion Gossipology!

 Πως έτσι; Αρχικά, αρκετοί από εσάς μου έχετε εκφράσει ως παράπονο πως δεν έχω κάποια ανάρτηση σχετική με εμένα και ούτε γράφω πολλά στις πληροφορίες του προφίλ. Επίσης, απέκτησα ένα νέο ζευγάρι ανοιξιάτικες γόβες και ζητήσατε ένα outfit post. Και τέλος, η φωτογράφος και φίλη μου Foteini Z. σκέφτηκε πως έπρεπε να ανεβάσω στο ιστολόγιο μία τέτοιου είδους ανάρτηση και εγώ ένοιωσα πως ίσως ήρθε η ώρα για κάτι τέτοιο.

 Μερικές Κυριακές πριν λοιπόν, αποφασίσαμε να κάνουμε αυτήν τη φωτογράφιση. Είχε ήδη μπει ο Μάρτιος, η ημέρα ξεκίνησε με ένα λαμπερό ήλιο, κάπου το μεσημέρι συννέφιασε και ο αέρας ανακάτευε τα μαλλιά μου (όπως θα παρατηρήσετε στις φωτογραφίες). Αποφάσισα πως έπρεπε να διαλέξω μία εμφάνιση κατάλληλη για μία ανοιξιάτικη ημέρα σαν τη σημερινή. Οι πρώτες ανοιξιάτικες ημέρες χαρακτηρίζονται από τις μεγάλες διαφορές θερμοκρασίας και τον άστατο καιρό με αποτέλεσμα να μην ξέρουμε πως να ντυθούμε.

 Αλλά βρήκα την απάντηση μου. Η απάντηση είναι: ντύσου με αρκετά "επίπεδα" ρούχων, δηλαδή το ένα πάνω στο άλλο. Αυτός ο τύπος ντυσίματος θα μας κρατήσει ζεστούς και αν νιώσουμε πως η θερμοκρασία ανεβαίνει αρκετά μπορούμε να αφαιρέσουμε κάποιο ρούχο.
 Έτσι λοιπόν, εγώ επέλεξα ένα ριγέ t-shirt, την πλεκτή, χαλαρή μου ζακέτα, το τύπου δερμάτινο jacket μου (Βρες εδώ την τάση: Fashion Trend - The Leather Effect), ένα σκισμένο τζιν, τις νέες Sante γόβες μου και για περισσότερο ανοιξιάτικο χρώμα ένα κολιέ.

We had so much fun during the photo shooting! It was the first time so, I had no idea what to do and where to stand. The wind was messing with my hair all the time and I was looking  goofy in some photos. I really enjoyed it!

Fashion Gossipology by Athina Kouzmidou

Hey all!!

 Another post by L. and friends is here to read! Today you will meet Athina Kouzmidou, you will check her style, her fashion and beauty ideas.

Who is Athina Kouzmidou?

 Athina is a professional makeup artist-cosmetologist and beautician. She graduated from Technological Educational Institute of Athens in 2009 and she is working as makeup artist and beautician the last 9 years. Also, she is a mother of a baby boy.  What do you find fascinating about your job?
 My job as makeup artist allows me to fully express myself! When I take the makeup brushes in my hands my big intention is to see the smile of satisfaction and happiness at the end of my work. This is what I find fascinating about my job and this is what motivates me to try harder.

 Where do you get inspiration for your work?
 Every new face that I meet is an inspiration for me! I try to understand what she likes and to show off  all the beautiful features she has! I'm inspired from woman's personality  and my intention is to do a makeup that fits perfectly in her style!

 Describe your personal style
 My everyday style is casual with rock details. For a formal occasion I prefer a girly look but I would never reject the possibility of a different kind of style.

What are your favorite designers/brands and places to shop?
 I prefer to shop in malls and I don't pay so much attention to brands and designers; I just buy whatever I would like to wear. However, I have to say that Michael Kors is a fashion designer that I like.  

 The first thing you look at in another person's outfit is:
 The total look but sometimes I pay more attention to shoes and bag.

 The first thing you look at in another person's makeup is:
 Everything matters! At first I look at the whole face picture but I notice the right color choices, the makeup base and the blush.

 Your favorite color of the moment is:
 Pink...every shade of pink.

 What is your next "must have" purchase?
 There are so many things I wanna buy!! My next purchase I want to be a new pair of high heel pumps in a vivid color.

 What is your favorite item in your closet?
 I love my dresses.

 Are there any fashion icons or famous people whose style you admire?
 Blake Lively.

 What can't you live without?
 Water.

 What is the most important beauty advice that you can give to women?

 They should take constantly care of their skin. The every day and night face cleansing and moisturizing is very important. They have to use the right products for their skin type and don't ever forget their suncream!

 What products do you think should be a staple in every woman's purse?
 Lip balm and blush.

 What are some of your favorite products in your makeup kit?
 The shimmering illuminating powders, a primer by MAC and the micro foundation cache by Kryolan.

 Your goal for 2014 is:
 To make beautiful more women.

 Hello, hello!!

 Spring has come but "baby it's cold outside"! The best way to feel like Spring is a new pair of Sante Shoes Spring/Summer Collection!!

Fashion Trend - Leggings

 Hello dears!

 It's March and typically Spring is here! Time has come and a new spring fashion trend as well.

 Leggings are hot fashion trend since 2013. Spring 2014 is full of them. Leggings are comfortable, you can wear them day to night and they are able to be the key item of your casual, athletic or rock style. For Spring choose floral, letters, geometrical patterns and animal prints!

 However, we all have to pay attention how to wear our leggings. Here they are some tips which may save you from a difficult situation.

1. Prefer to pair your leggings with long tops or cardigans and outerwears. Leggings are not flattering for every body type so, a long top can make you feel safe and stylish.

2. Purchase leggings that is not made of thin fabric because sometimes it has a  c-through effect. If you already have that kind of leggings it would be fine to pair it with a dress or a long enough shirt. (Nobody wants to see your panties! Ok, maybe someone wanna see it but public streets are not the right place for that.)

3. Moreover, nobody wanna know your body anatomy so, stop pulling up so high your leggings and buy them at your size. Once again a long top can save you.

 Είναι Μάρτιος και τυπικά έχουμε μπει στην Άνοιξη! Ο καιρός έφτασε και μαζί μία νέα ανοιξιάτικη τάση.

 Τα κολάν αποτελούν καυτή τάση της μόδας από το 2013. Την Άνοιξη του 2014 θα τα δούμε παντού. Τα κολάν είναι άνετα, μπορείς να τα φορέσεις από το πρωί μέχρι το βράδυ και μπορούν να γίνουν το σημείο αναφοράς του καθημερινού, αθλητικού ή ροκ στυλ σου. Για την Άνοιξη επέλεξε κολάν εμπριμέ, με γράμματα, γεωμετρικά σχήματα και animal prints σε αυτά.

 Ωστόσο, όλες πρέπει να δώσουμε λίγη προσοχή πως πρέπει να φοράμε τα κολάν μας. Εδώ είναι λοιπόν κάποιες συμβουλές, οι οποίες μπορεί να μας γλιτώσουν από μια άβολη κατάσταση.

1. Προτίμησε να συνδυάζεις τα κολάν σου με μακριές μπλούζες, ζακέτες και πανωφόρια. Τα κολάν δεν είναι κολακευτικά για όλους τους τύπους σώματος , οπότε μία μακριά μπλούζα θα σε κάνει να νιώθεις ασφαλής και στιλάτη.

2. Αγόρασε κολάν που δεν είναι φτιαγμένα από λεπτά υφάσματα και διαφανίζουν. Αν ήδη έχεις τέτοιου είδους κολάν θα ήταν πολύ ωραίο να το συνδυάσεις με φόρεμα ή με μία αρκετά μακριά μπλούζα. (Κανείς δε θέλει να δει το εσώρουχό σου! Εντάξει, ίσως κάποιος να θέλει αλλά ο δρόμος δεν είναι το κατάλληλο μέρος γι' αυτό.)

3. Επιπλέον, κανείς δεν θέλει να ξέρει την ανατομία του σώματος σου. Γι' αυτό σταμάτα να τραβάς ψηλά τα κολάν σου και αγόρασε τα στο νούμερό σου . Και σε αυτή την περίπτωση μία μακρυά μπλούζα μπορεί να σε σώσει.

2014 Oscars Academy Awards "Red Carpet Gossipology"

Hey people,

it's time for red carpet gossipology!

 The 86th Annual Academy Awards held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. This year there were superb red carpet appearances and we noticed lots of white and blue dresses.

 So, here it is the annual Oscars red carpet gossipology. Enjoy the 20 best dressed of the glam night, of course the Top 5 of  my favourites and vote for the one you believe it was the best presence among the first ten looks.

1. Lupita Nyong'o - Prada gown and platform sandals, Fred Leighton jewels. Lupita made an outstanding red carpet appearance. This light-blue, silk dress was looking perfect on her. The Cinderella look just took my heart and the first position in my Top 5! (Gossipology: This was her first Academy Award nomination and she won the Oscar as the best Actress in a Supporting role for 12 Years a Slave.)  Jennifer Lawrence - Christian Dior gown, Brian Atwood sandals and Neil Lane necklace. She made a great appearance in this red, strapless dress. The necklace hung gracefully down her back. I think that her make up wasn't so flattering, her eyes were looking small.
